Breeding of rare, exotic parrots begins at Lahore Zoo

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) For the first time, the Lahore Zoo has started breeding of rare and exotic parrots.

According to the administration sources, the aim of this initiative is to give the zoo

a prominent place in the field of captive breeding.

Officials say that during the year 2024-25, various types of parrots were purchased, including

Eclectus, Cockatoo, Monk, Sun Conure and Alexandrine parrots. Now a modern system has been introduced for the breeding of these birds.

Imported incubators and nurseries are also being set up for this purpose, while the installation of a modern

hatchery system has entered the final stages.
