BRA to introduce e-invoice monitoring system rules 2026 for transparency in tax administration

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) On the directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has announced plans to introduce the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (e-IMS) Rules 2026, aimed at promoting transparency and digitalization in the provincial tax system.

According to a news release, the new rules will be implemented under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act 2015 and are designed to modernize tax administration across the province.

Under the proposed system, invoicing software used by registered service providers will be integrated with the BRA’s digital platform.

This integration will allow authorities to monitor taxable services in real time, strengthening enforcement of tax laws and discouraging underreporting of revenues.

The rules will introduce several measures to ensure compliance, including surprise inspections, possible video monitoring and a customer prize scheme to encourage consumers to demand proper receipts.

Officials emphasized that the initiative will improve compliance with tax regulations while aligning Balochistan’s tax administration with modern digital standards.

The BRA's press release added that technical support will be provided to businesses to help them transition smoothly to the new system and comply with updated invoicing requirements.

Authorities believe the reform will not only increase provincial revenue but also significantly improve documentation and transparency in the services sector across Balochistan.
