BRA directs diagnostic labs to register, pay 2 % sales tax

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has instructed all laboratories and diagnostic centers in the province conducting pathological, radiological, and other medical diagnostic tests to register with the authority and comply with tax regulations.

According to an official statement, the BRA clarified that under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act 2015, a 2 percent sales tax applies to services related to pathological, radiological, and diagnostic tests carried out for patients.

The authority emphasized that all diagnostic facilities operating in Balochistan are legally required to register with the BRA, pay the prescribed sales tax and submit tax returns for each period within the stipulated deadlines.

The BRA warned that laboratories failing to register, pay taxes, or submit returns on time could face penalties and legal action under the law.

The authority urged laboratory owners and administrators to ensure full compliance with tax laws to avoid legal complications and contribute to strengthening the province’s revenue system.
