Quarterly installment for women has been raised from Rs13,500 to Rs14,500, providing additional financial support to low-income families across the country

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 19th, 2026) The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced a Rs1,000 increase in its quarterly payments for eligible women beneficiaries ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

Following the increase, the quarterly installment for women has been raised from Rs13,500 to Rs14,500, providing additional financial support to low-income families across the country.

In addition, allowances under BISP’s educational scholarships and the Benazir Nashonuma Programme have also been increased by Rs500, further assisting women and children in meeting their educational and nutritional needs.

The adjustments are expected to directly benefit thousands of women across Pakistan, strengthening BISP’s role as a vital social safety net.

Separately, a live e-court session was held at the BISP headquarters in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Senator Rubina Khalid. During the session, the chairperson urged women who have not yet obtained a free SIM card for their digital wallets to immediately visit BISP offices to collect it. These digital wallets allow beneficiaries to receive payments conveniently and securely, reducing reliance on cash transactions.

BISP officials said the increase in payments and allowances reflects the programme’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable women and their families, ensuring timely financial assistance, and promoting digital inclusion, especially during the economically challenging period of Ramadan.
