Biometric attendance system launched at Gomal University

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) Gomal University has formally launched a modern biometric attendance system in a move aimed at enhancing transparency, discipline, and administrative efficiency within the varsity.

The system was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, in a ceremony attended by the Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, deans of various faculties, heads of departments, and administrative officers.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor said the introduction of the biometric system reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening institutional discipline and ensuring a more effective attendance monitoring mechanism. He emphasized that adopting modern technology is the need of the hour and a vital step toward transforming Gomal University into a more organized and progressive institution.

He further stated that the new system will digitally record and securely maintain attendance data, leading to improved administrative operations and more effective performance monitoring.

The university officials present at the ceremony welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward institutional improvement. According to the administration, the biometric system will be gradually implemented across all departments in the next phase to further reinforce accountability and governance within the university.
