BFA destroys unhealthy vegetables from 30 acres in crackdown

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) conducted major crackdown against unhealthy vegetables grown with sewage water and destroyed them from 30 acres in Sarwar Town and Sabzal area of Quetta on Wednesday.

According to BFA officials, on special directive of Director General, BFA, their team is taking action against harmful vegetables in view of the risks to public health. The unhealthy vegetables including cabbage, coriander and mint were ruined which were grown with filthy water by the team during operation.

The official source said that food safety teams identified several fields grown with sewage water and took immediate action said that all routes leading to the fields from sewage water were blocked to stop the process of contaminated cultivation.

He said that samples of cabbage and mint were sent to the laboratory for further investigation, further action would be taken in the light of the report

“Balochistan Food Authority's clear message: Vegetables grown with sewage water are tantamount to playing with the health of the people”, he said.
