PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially from southern districts have strongly rejected the extremist narrative of “Fitna al-Khawarij,” with growing public support for state institutions and security forces.
In a new development on Monday, Wazir Iqbal, a resident of Bannu District, publicly announced complete disassociation from his son, Shakirullah, who is allegedly involved in militancy and anti-state activities.
Speaking at a press conference at the Bannu Press Club, Wazir Iqbal stated that neither he nor his family has any connection to his son's actions or activities.
He said Shakirullah left home around six months ago and later became involved in anti-state operations.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>According to the father, the family made repeated efforts to bring him back, even sending relatives and family members to persuade him, but he refused to return.
Wazir Iqbal further affirmed that his family stands firmly with the state institutions, the government of Pakistan and the security forces, including the Pakistan Army and is ready to cooperate fully in every possible way.
Public resentment against extremist groups in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is reportedly increasing day by day, while support for anti-state narratives continues to decline.
