Bank to observe extended working hours on Tuesday to facilitate tax collection

Banks will observe extended working hours on Tuesday June 30, 2026- the last day of financial year 2025-26- to facilitate over the counter payments of government duties and taxes

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jun, 2026) Banks will observe extended working hours on Tuesday June 30, 2026- the last day of financial year 2025-26- to facilitate over the counter payments of government duties and taxes.

According to a statement issued by State Bank of Pakistan, the decision has been taken to facilitate taxpayers in making payments of government duties and taxes through Over-the-Counter (OTC) and Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs).

All branches of commercial banks and NBP branches handling Custom collections shall observe

extended working hours on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 until 10:00 P.

M while NBP branches handling Custom collections will open until 11:59 P.M, it added.

The central bank further advised banks to ensure opening of their concerned branches for as long as required to facilitate

the Special Clearing of Government transactions conducted by NIFT.

The banks shall also ensure uninterrupted availability of their digital payment channels i.e. internet banking, mobile banking applications, ATMs, and other digital platforms to facilitate the online payment of Government duties and taxes.
