ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) A delegation of senior civil servants from Bangladesh called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan at the Supreme Court of Pakistan during their visit to Pakistan under the Executive Development Programme being conducted at the National school of Public Policy.
The delegation was led by Rector NSPP Farhan Aziz Khawaja and included senior Bangladeshi bureaucrats headed by Additional Secretary Salma Siddiqua Mahtab.
Welcoming the delegation, Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi briefed participants on Pakistan’s judicial system and ongoing reform initiatives aimed at making the justice sector citizen-centric, transparent, technology-driven and efficient.
The delegation was informed about key reforms introduced by the apex court, including e-filing, video-link hearings, digital dashboards, QR-coded certified copies, e-payments, online facilitation systems and establishment of Public Facilitation Centres for litigants.
The chief justice also highlighted measures to reduce case backlog through data-driven case management and strengthening of alternative dispute resolution, mediation and arbitration mechanisms.

The delegation was also briefed on initiatives of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee and the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan for improving judicial governance, particularly at the district judiciary level.
Justice Afridi highlighted projects relating to solarization of court complexes, establishment of e-libraries, digital connectivity, women-friendly facilities and capacity-building programmes for judges and lawyers.
The visiting officials were also informed about the Gender-Responsive Justice Initiative 2026-27, under which Women Facilitation Centres are being established to provide integrated support services to women litigants under one roof.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Salma Siddiqua Mahtab thanked the chief justice for the interaction and appreciated Pakistan’s judicial reform measures, especially initiatives focused on women’s facilitation and citizen-centric justice delivery.
The meeting concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session on judicial reforms and governance, followed by an exchange of souvenirs.
