Bangladeshi bowlers dominated throughout, dismissing Pakistan’s entire team in just 30.1 overs.
DHAKA: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 11th, 2026) Pakistan suffered a humiliating batting collapse as the team was bowled out for just 114 runs in the opening match of the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Bangladesh captain Mehdi Hasan Miraz won the toss and opted to field first, putting Pakistan’s batting under immediate pressure.
Pakistan’s innings started with Sahibzada Farhan and Muaz Siddiqui, but Farhan was dismissed for 27, while debutant Shaheen Hussain managed only 4 runs. Siddiqui scored 18 in his first ODI outing.
The Bangladeshi bowlers dominated throughout, dismissing Pakistan’s entire team in just 30.1 overs. Fahim Ashraf was the top scorer with 37 runs.
Other contributions were minimal: Mohammad Rizwan 10, Salman Agha 5, Hussain Talat 4, while debutants Abdus Samad and Mohammad Wasim failed to score. Abrar Ahmed remained 0 not out.
Pakistan’s total of 114 is its lowest-ever score against Bangladesh in ODIs.
Earlier, Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi had said that had his team won the toss, they would have batted first, expecting a competitive total of 270–280 on the pitch.
The match also saw four Pakistan players make their ODI debuts: Sahibzada Farhan, Muaz Siddiqui, Abdus Samad, and Shaheen Hussain—the largest number of debuts in a single match for Pakistan since 2008.
Bangladesh’s bowlers capitalized on Pakistan’s inexperienced line-up, setting the stage for a highly competitive series.
