Ban on illegal gold mining extended for two months

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat, Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, has ordered a 60-day extension of restrictions imposed under section 144 to curb illegal gold mining and misuse of petroleum products.

The ban includes areas under Shakardara, Lachi and Gumbat police stations where sale, purchase and supply of petroleum in open containers, bottles and jerry cans have been prohibited.

The ban has been extended to stop illegal mining operations and prevent incidents related to fuel transportation.

Authorities have warned of strict actions against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
