Ban extended on parking of excavators near palcer gold mines

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) District Administration Kohat here on Wednesday extended ban on parking of excavators in localities close to placer gold mines areas.

Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir issued separate orders extending ban on presence and parking of excavators on residential premises in Block C, Block D and adjoining placer gold mining areas.

The district administration said that despite repeated enforcement actions, excavators continued to facilitate illegal mining activities posing risks to public order and state interests. The restrictions have been imposed under Section 144 of Code of Criminal Procedure for another 60 days.

The District administration also extended ban on the sale, purchase and supply of petroleum products in open containers, bottles and jerry cans across the same mining zones. Officials said the measure is aimed at disrupting the fuel supply used in unlawful mining operations and discouraging

illegal extraction.

Police, Mines and Minerals Department, Assistant Commissioners, Tehsil Municipal Administrations and other relevant agencies have been directed to ensure strict enforcement of restrictions as part of broader efforts to curb illegal placer gold mining in Kohat.
