Balochistan reviews progress on province-wide sports complex projects

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) Balochistan Secretary for Communications and Works, Babar Khan, chaired a high-level review meeting to assess progress on ongoing sports complex projects across Balochistan, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure for youth development.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineers from all six zones of the Communications and Works Department, along with Superintending Engineers (SEs), District Executive Engineers, and other relevant officials.

During the session, participants were given a detailed briefing on the status of sports complex projects underway throughout the province.

The briefing covered overall progress, expected completion timelines, technical challenges, fund releases, construction quality, and other administrative matters. Officials also outlined the pace of work in each zone, identified key obstacles, and shared measures being taken to address them.

Addressing the meeting, Secretary Babar Khan emphasized that the ongoing sports complexes are projects of significant importance that will play a vital role in providing healthy and constructive activities for young people. He directed all concerned authorities to ensure completion of the projects within the stipulated timeframe to promote sporting activities and create positive opportunities for the province’s youth.

He further instructed officials to immediately resolve all technical issues affecting project implementation and accelerate the pace of construction.

Stressing accountability, he made it clear that no compromise would be tolerated on construction standards and that transparency must be maintained at every stage.

The secretary reiterated that all sports complex projects must be completed on schedule and in accordance with high-quality standards to provide modern and well-equipped sports facilities for the youth of the province.
