Balochistan Police intensify crackdown on outlaws, arrest criminals

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) The Balochistan Police have intensified their campaign to safeguard lives and property, aiming to provide citizens with a peaceful and crime-free environment. The operation, which spans all seven ranges of the province including Quetta, targets proclaimed offenders, fugitives and other wanted criminals.

According to a press release issued by the police spokesperson here Wednesday, Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir directed the force to sustain this special drive. Over the past three weeks, police teams arrested 43 proclaimed offenders, 288 fugitives, and 556 suspects wanted in various crimes. Swift action against kidnappers also resulted in the safe recovery of thirteen abducted individuals.

Police seized five stolen vehicles, fifteen motorcycles, and six mobile phones. Violations of Section 144 led to the impoundment of nine vehicles, while twenty-eight motorcycles were confiscated under Section 550.

The anti-narcotics campaign has also shown major success. Ninety-four drug dealers were arrested, and large quantities of narcotics were recovered, including 430 kilograms of cannabis, 203 kilograms of crystal meth, 739 kilograms of dried hemp, 23 kilograms of opium, and 210 kilograms of heroin.

Authorities also confiscated alcohol in various forms, including beer cans, bottles, and homemade liquor.

Other operations led to the seizure of 7,000 liters of smuggled diesel, the removal of tinted glass from 1,755 vehicles, and the confiscation of gutka, Iranian cigarettes, and Iranian Currency amounting to 7.88 billion rupees.

It was emphasized that measures were being taken to prevent criminals from relocating between districts. Arrested suspects are being cross-checked against records in all police stations across Balochistan, while coordination with police in other provinces ensures thorough investigation of pending cases. Data exchange between provinces is also underway to ensure that offenders are brought to justice, the officials said.

The Police officials noted that personnel demonstrating exceptional performance in these operations were being rewarded with cash prizes and commendation certificates, reinforcing the commitment to maintain law and order across the province.
