QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that ongoing reforms in the health sector mark the beginning of a new era, as the provincial government is taking practical steps to provide basic services to citizens at their doorstep.

He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of 11 completed projects at the Chief Minister’s House in Quetta.

The event was attended by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, former Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, provincial ministers, advisers, parliamentary secretaries, members of the national and provincial assemblies, senior bureaucrats, and PPP officials and workers.

Welcoming Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to Balochistan, Bugti expressed hope that he would continue to visit the province despite his busy schedule. He said that the inauguration of modern facilities such as the Quetta Trauma Centre, Peoples Air Ambulance, and Benazir Ambulance Service represents a revolutionary moment in the province’s healthcare history. He announced that the Trauma Centre would be named after Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

Bugti noted that under Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s guidance, the government has prioritized health and education, with tangible results now visible.

He highlighted that 99 percent of schools in Balochistan have reopened and over 13,000 teachers have been appointed on merit. He added that rehabilitation work in flood-affected areas continues in collaboration with the Federal government, while the provincial government is also planning to launch the Peoples Bus Service in all major cities within the next three years, following its successful introduction in Quetta and Turbat.

The CM acknowledged that Balochistan’s circumstances differ from other provinces, but welcomed the constructive role of the opposition, which has cooperated with the government on matters of public interest. He reaffirmed that the provincial government will continue to pursue people-friendly initiatives in line with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, ensuring that citizens receive quality healthcare, education, and modern transport facilities.

Bugti praised the constructive role of the opposition, noting that consensus and cooperation have been maintained on matters of public interest. He recalled Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s three priorities for Balochistan quality healthcare, improved education opportunities, and rehabilitation of flood victims with empowerment of rural women and said significant progress has been achieved on the first two, while the third continues despite federal delays.
