Azma Bukhari stresses brotherhood, peace during Muharram

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said that maintaining an atmosphere of brotherhood during Muharram is the responsibility of leaders and scholars of all schools of thought.

Members of the Faisalabad Division Peace Committee met the minister here on Tuesday.

Azma stated that the peace committee would fully cooperate with the administration to maintain a favorable environment and ensure peace.

She said, "Mutual coordination between the peace committee and the organizers of religious gatherings

(Majalis) is a welcome development.

"

The minister said that the Punjab government and all its institutions were actively engaged in serving

the public.

The members of the committee thanked Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz for promoting and maintaining an atmosphere of peace, tolerance and brotherhood during ongoing month of Muharram.

The meeting was attended by Peace Committee members Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi, Hafiz Muhammad Amjad and Allama Tahir Hussain and others.
