The Secretary of the Market Committee Chiniot, along with other relevant officers, provided a comprehensive briefing on the arrival of essential items, supply trends and market operations. She was informed about daily inflows and measures taken to maintain smooth trading activity.
Subsequently, the Deputy Commissioner issued firm instructions to the Secretary Market Committee and the EADA to effectively regulate wholesale prices during Ramadan. She directed officials to ensure timely auctions in the visible presence of officers, maintain strict oversight of bidding procedures and guarantee daily cleanliness of the market to facilitate orderly trading.
Emphasising consumer protection, she categorically stated that no middleman would be allowed to arbitrarily inflate prices.
