Ayaz Latif Palijo, Zain Shah express grief over Apa Maryam Majeedi’s demise

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Political personalities have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of renowned Sindhi poetess Apa Maryam Majeedi.

In his condolence message, chief of the Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) Ayaz Latif Palijo expressed profound grief over the demise of Apa Maryam Majeedi and said that the party stands with the bereaved family in this difficult time.

He termed her death a great loss for Sindhi literature and poetry, adding that her services would always be remembered. He said that through her poetry and writings, she highlighted the fragrance of the homeland, love, pain and social awareness.

Palijo said Apa Maryam Majeedi was a dignified patriot and nationalist personality who devoted her entire life to the service of literature and knowledge.

Her passing away is deeply painful, he added, saying that her literary and national services would remain alive in history.

Meanwhile, President of Sindh United Party (SUP) Syed Zain Shah, in his condolence statement said that Maryam Majeedi was a true follower of her father’s literary, intellectual and nationalistic vision, and her contributions were unmatched. He said that the void created by her death could never be filled.

Syed Zain Shah further said that they stand with the family of Maryam Majeedi in this hour of grief and pay tribute to all her services and contributions.
