Awareness walk marks World Immunization Week

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) The Health Department organised an awareness walk in connection with World Immunisation Week to urge the parents to ensure timely vaccination of their children to protect them from life-threatening diseases.

Chief Officer Health Dr Shahbaz led the walk while District Coordinator Awareness Abdul Jabbar along with other officials of the health department was also present on the occasion.

The walk commenced from the Health Office in which a large number of health workers, staff members and citizens participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shahbaz highlighted that immunization is one of the most effective ways to safeguard children against various fatal diseases, stressing that it is the responsibility of every parent to ensure their children receive vaccines on time.

He said that activities under World Immunization Week would continue till April 30, during which various awareness initiatives are being carried out to educate the public about the importance of vaccination.

The chief officer health said that in line with the directions of the Punjab government the efforts are being intensified to further improve immunization coverage while field teams are actively working to reach out to communities.

He urged the citizens to fully cooperate with the health department and not to neglect the vaccination process as timely immunization is imperative for ensuring children’s health and preventing the spread of diseases.

The participants of the walk carried banners and placards inscribed with awareness messages which highlighted the importance of vaccination and encouraged the public to take preventive health measures.
