CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jun, 2026) The Environment Department Chiniot organized an awareness walk on the occasion of World Environment Day to highlight the importance of environmental protection and cleanliness.

The walk was led by Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and DPO Dr. Naveed Atif. Assistant Commissioner Shaista Jabeen, Deputy Director Environment Dr. Hina Sattar, officers of various departments, civil society representatives, media persons, and a large number of citizens participated.

Participants carried banners and placards emphasizing tree plantation, elimination of air pollution, and a clean environment.Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan said protecting the environment is a shared responsibility and collective measures are essential to address climate change challenges.

She urged citizens to plant more trees and keep their surroundings clean. DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said a clean and safe environment is fundamental for a healthy society and appealed to the public to help eliminate pollution and promote eco-friendly activities.

Deputy Director Environment Dr. Hina Sattar explained that the objective of World Environment Day is to raise public awareness and highlight the importance of conserving natural resources.

At the end of the walk, participants expressed commitment to adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle. The Deputy Commissioner, DPO, and others also planted saplings at the rest house and offered prayers.
