Awareness Session on Protection of Women at Workplace Act Organized in Sukkur

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2026) The Regional Office Sukkur of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh organized an awareness seminar on "The Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace at the Blood Bank Hospital here on Tuesday.

The seminar aimed at creating awareness among healthcare professionals and hospital staff about their legal rights and responsibilities under the Act.

Keynote speaker Muhammad Iqbal Arain, Consultant and Retired District & Sessions Judge, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, delivered a detailed address on various forms of workplace harassment, legal penalties under the law and the procedure for lodging complaints with the Provincial Ombudsman. He urged employees to report harassment incidents without fear, assuring that every complaint is dealt with confidentiality and fairness.

Earlier, Syed Manzoor Hussain, Senior I.T. Officer, Provincial Ombudsman Secretariat Sindh, introduced the mandate, objectives and complaint redressal mechanism of the Secretariat established to ensure safe and respectful workplaces for women.

A large number of nurses, female doctors and hospital officials attended the seminar and actively participated in the interactive session. They appreciated the initiative for promoting awareness about workplace rights and legal protection.

The seminar concluded with the message that creating a harassment-free workplace is a collective responsibility and awareness is the first step towards justice.
