Attock police raid gambling den, arrest four suspects

ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) Attock police arrested four alleged gamblers during a raid on a gambling den and seized more than Rs706,000 in stake money, officials said on Tuesday.

According to police, a team from Saddar Attock Police Station carried out the operation after receiving information from an informant that several individuals were engaged in gambling with playing cards in an open area near the shrine of Daud Shah in Chua Sarwala.

Acting on the tip-off, police formed a raiding party and conducted a swift operation at the site. Upon seeing the police, the suspects allegedly attempted to flee after mixing up the money placed as bets.

However, police managed to apprehend four individuals on the spot. The arrested suspects were identified as Muhammad Riaz Qureshi, a resident of Mohalla Shahabad Attock; Shafqat Nawaz of islam Line Attock; Waheed Iqbal of Sarwala; and Muhammad Ejaz of Mari Mor, Attock.

Police said cash amounting to Rs706,000, allegedly used for gambling, was recovered from the suspects and taken into custody.

A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
