Attock police foil inter-provincial drug smuggling bid, over 10kg hashish recovered

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) Attock Khurd Police on Saturday thwarted a major inter-provincial drug smuggling attempt and recovered more than 10 kilograms of hashish during a successful operation against narcotics trafficking.

According to police sources, the operation was conducted under the supervision of SHO Attock Khurd Khanzada Shahroze. During checking at the Search Park area of Attock Khurd, police intercepted a Hiace vehicle and carried out a search operation.

The police recovered over 10 kilograms of hashish skillfully concealed inside clothes in a bag carried by a suspicious passenger.

The accused, identified as Wajid Ali son of Muhammadi Shah, a resident of Peshawar, was arrested on the spot.

Police said the recovered narcotics were allegedly being smuggled from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab. A case has been registered against the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act, while further investigation is underway to trace other members of the smuggling network.
