Attock Police conduct district-wide mock drills to enhance Muharram security preparedness

On the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Mavarhan Khan, comprehensive mock exercises were conducted on Tuesday at Imambargahs across the district to further strengthen security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram and assess preparedness for any emergency situation

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) On the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Mavarhan Khan, comprehensive mock exercises were conducted on Tuesday at Imambargahs across the district to further strengthen security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram and assess preparedness for any emergency situation.

According to Attock Police, the exercises were aimed at enhancing the professional capabilities of security personnel, improving emergency response mechanisms, and ensuring effective coordination among law enforcement and allied departments. The drills were designed to enable timely and coordinated action in the event of any untoward incident during Muharram.

Teams from Attock Police, Rescue 1122, the Bomb Disposal Squad, and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) actively participated in the mock exercises, demonstrating practical emergency response procedures, evacuation strategies, and coordinated security measures at sensitive religious sites.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Sardar Mavarhan Khan said that ensuring the security of religious places and mourners during Muharram-ul-Haram remains the foremost priority of Attock Police. He stated that the drills were intended to keep the force fully prepared to tackle all types of emergencies and safeguard the lives and property of citizens. A police spokesperson added that all available resources were being utilized to further strengthen and effectively implement Muharram security arrangements throughout the district.
