ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) In order to ensure public safety during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holidays, the district administration of Attock on Thursday imposed a ban on bathing and swimming in rivers, canals, and other water bodies, alongside a prohibition on electric swings at public places.
The restrictions were enforced by Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The measure comes amid rising temperatures and increasing water levels, as authorities anticipate a surge in recreational activities near rivers, streams, canals, and small dams during the festive period.
Officials stated that the decision has been taken to prevent any untoward incidents, while emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in ensuring safety.
The district administration has urged citizens to comply with the restrictions, and avoid visiting hazardous locations, warning that strict action will be taken against violators to safeguard lives during the holidays.
