Attock administration tightens price monitoring, warns against profiteering and hoarding

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) The district administration has intensified efforts to ensure the availability of essential commodities at government-approved rates, with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Attock, Anil Saeed, directing Price Control Magistrates to strengthen market surveillance and enforce price regulations across the district. The directives were issued during a meeting convened on Thursday to review commodity prices, implementation of official price lists, and measures aimed at providing maximum relief to consumers.

Chairing the meeting, Anil Saeed stressed the need for Price Control Magistrates to maintain a strong field presence and conduct daily inspections of markets, bazaars, and retail outlets. He underscored that strict compliance with the Punjab Government’s price control policy was essential to protect consumers from unjustified price hikes and market manipulation.

He instructed magistrates to ensure continuous monitoring of commodity prices and take prompt legal action against traders found involved in overcharging or other violations of price control regulations.

During the session, officials briefed participants on ongoing price monitoring activities, inspection campaigns, and enforcement measures undertaken across the district. Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to public welfare, Anil Saeed said that ensuring affordable access to essential commodities and providing relief to citizens remained among the district administration’s foremost priorities.
