Attock administration pledges to protect street vendors’ livelihoods during city development works

Acting on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Aneel Saeed met pushcart and handcart vendors operating across Attock city on Thursday, assuring them that ongoing development and beautification projects would not come at the expense of their livelihoods

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Acting on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Aneel Saeed met pushcart and handcart vendors operating across Attock city on Thursday, assuring them that ongoing development and beautification projects would not come at the expense of their livelihoods.

During the meeting, Saeed said the district administration was pursuing a balanced approach by advancing urban development while safeguarding the economic interests of small-scale vendors. He listened to the vendors' concerns and assured them that no hardworking individual would be deprived of earning a living because of the projects.

He said that where relocation of pushcarts or handcarts becomes necessary due to construction activities, the administration would provide suitable alternative sites to ensure business operations continue without disruption and household incomes remain protected.

Reaffirming the administration's commitment to public welfare, Saeed said all decisions related to the projects would be taken in consultation with stakeholders. He added that the objective is to complete development initiatives on schedule while minimizing their impact on the livelihoods of local residents.
