Atif Aslam’s global audience grows ahead of new album

KARACHI: Spotify has celebrated the global impact of Pakistani singer Atif Aslam ahead of the release of his new album, Subah Aye Na, highlighting his enduring popularity across generations and international markets.

The streaming platform said Aslam’s music has amassed nearly 8 billion streams, attracted more than 30 million monthly listeners, and reached audiences in 184 countries.

According to Spotify, 96% of his streams over the past year originated outside Pakistan, reflecting his broad international fan base across South Asia, the Middle East, North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

Spotify also noted that Atif Aslam continues to resonate with younger audiences, with Generation Z accounting for 85% of his streams.

Over the past year, more than 41 million listeners either discovered or returned to his music, while his songs have been added to more than 37.5 million user-created playlists worldwide.

“Very few artists become part of a country’s collective memory in the way Atif Aslam has,” said Rutaba Yaqub, Spotify’s Artist & Label Partnerships Manager for Pakistan and the UAE. She said the singer’s music continues to accompany listeners through different stages of life and maintains a lasting emotional connection with fans around the world.

Speaking ahead of the album’s release, Atif Aslam described Subah Aye Na as a reflection of his journey toward self-discovery. “This album is a true representation of freeing myself from the chaos and meeting my real self,” he said.

Subah Aye Na is scheduled for release on July 31 and features eight tracks: Subah Aye Na, Safar Mein Hun, Ishq, Let’s Have Some Fun, Sun Sajna, Hun Ishq Mein, Char Yaar, and Sachay Waday. Fans can pre-save the album on Spotify ahead of its launch.
