LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday adjourned the jail trial proceedings in three May 9 riot cases, including two cases related to the burning of the Pakistan Muslim League-N office, till June 2 and issued summons to absent accused.
Judge Malik Abid Hussain conducted the hearing and expressed displeasure over the non-appearance of several accused who were out on bail.
The court granted a final opportunity to the absent accused and directed them to ensure their appearance at the next hearing. Senior defence counsel were also instructed to appear before the court on the next date of hearing.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The court summoned prosecution witnesses in all three cases, while the prosecution assured the court that witnesses would be produced at the next hearing.
The ongoing trials include two cases pertaining to the torching of the Pakistan Muslim League-N office, registered as Case No. 366/23 and Case No. 367/23, as well as a case related to the burning of a container outside National Park Gulberg.
Attendance of both jailed and bail-granted accused was completed during the proceedings. Among the detained accused are Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, Omar Sarfraz Cheema and Mian Mahmoodur Rashid.
