LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday adjourned trial proceedings in the Defence car crash case, in which six people were killed, till May 16, while cancelling the arrest warrants of the main accused Afnan and his father Shafqat Ali after their appearance before the court.

ATC Judge Shahid Sikandar heard the case. The accused had remained absent from several previous hearings, prompting the court to issue arrest warrants against them. However, upon their appearance, the court withdrew the warrants, restored their bail bonds and directed them to ensure attendance at every hearing.

The court also summoned prosecution witnesses for the next date of hearing.

The court has already framed charges against underage accused Afnan and his father, while the challan (charge sheet) has been submitted. Afnan’s friends have been placed in Column No. 2 of the challan.

The prosecution alleged that Afnan and his friends had also harassed the women prior to the incident. It further stated that Shafqat Ali allowed his underage son to drive despite not having a valid driving licence.

The accused, along with his companions, allegedly caused the deaths of six people after their car rammed into them in the Defence area.

The trial will resume on May 16.
