Local residents said the strike was carried out suddenly without any prior warning, international media report

GAZA: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 16th, 2026) At least 13 Palestinians, including two children, a pregnant woman and nine police officers, were killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, according to local authorities.

On Sunday, an Israeli strike targeted a house in a refugee camp in central Gaza, killing a couple, their 10-year-old son and a 15-year-old neighbour. Several injured people were shifted to nearby hospitals following the attack.

Among those killed was a pregnant woman who was expecting twins. Local residents said the strike was carried out suddenly without any prior warning.

In a separate incident, another Israeli strike hit a police vehicle in the Al-Zuwaida area, killing nine police personnel.

The Interior Ministry in Gaza condemned the attack, stating that the officers had been performing duties to monitor markets and maintain law and order during the holy month of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Israel announced that the Rafah Crossing will be partially reopened on Wednesday. However, only a limited number of passengers will be allowed to pass through the crossing, while the transportation of goods will remain restricted.

The reports indicate that more than 20,000 sick and injured people in Gaza are currently awaiting medical treatment abroad, including around 4,000 cancer patients and approximately 4,500 children. Among them, nearly 440 patients are said to be in critical condition.

According to the World Health Organization, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen. Nearly 600 aid trucks are required daily, but only about 200 trucks are currently able to enter the territory.

The Gaza Health Ministry has also warned that nearly half of the essential medicines have run out, while two-thirds of medical supplies are no longer available, placing the healthcare system under severe pressure.
