Assistant Commissioner Paharpur visits CRBC canal breach site, reviews repair work

Assistant Commissioner Paharpur Dr Hamid on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the breach site of the CRBC Canal at Kachi Kathgarh along with XEN CRBC to review the ongoing repair work

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) Assistant Commissioner Paharpur Dr Hamid on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the breach site of the CRBC Canal at Kachi Kathgarh along with XEN CRBC to review the ongoing repair work.

During the visit, the assistant commissioner inspected the site in detail and directed the concerned officials to further accelerate the pace of work while ensuring improved quality standards.

Dr. Hamid also took along third-party monitoring engineers to ensure an impartial assessment of the repair work. The monitoring team inspected the ongoing work and shared their observations for further improvement in quality. Following their recommendations, the assistant commissioner instructed the XEN CRBC to immediately implement the suggested measures to enhance the standard of work.

He further directed the CRBC staff to complete the repair work within the next few days and restore the canal so that irrigation water supply could resume for local farmers. He emphasized that early restoration of the canal would help address irrigation issues faced by growers and minimize potential damage to standing crops.

Meanwhile, officials of the Irrigation Department were also present at the site to assist the CRBC team. Around 30 to 40 labourers were engaged in the repair work.

The authorities expressed hope that the breach in the CRBC Canal would soon be fully repaired and water flow restored for agricultural use in the area.
