Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) The Assistant Commissioner Daraban conducted an inspection of Zafarabad and Chhota Bazaar on Friday to ensure implementation of the provincial government’s directives regarding price control and market regulations.
During the visit, several shopkeepers were found charging prices higher than the officially notified rates, failing to display the government price list at a prominent place, and maintaining unsatisfactory sanitation conditions. Legal action was taken against the violators on the spot.
According to officials, a fine of Rs4,000 was imposed for overcharging, while Rs2,000 was fined for not displaying the official price list. Another Rs2,000 fine was imposed over poor cleanliness arrangements.
In total, fines amounting to Rs8,000 were collected during the inspection.
The shopkeepers were warned to strictly follow the officially notified prices, display the price list prominently, and ensure proper cleanliness standards, otherwise strict legal action would be taken against them.
