Ashura teaches patience,truth and sacrifice:Hanif Abbasi

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Friday said Ashura imparts timeless lessons of patience, steadfastness,selflessness and an unwavering commitment to truth.

In a message issued on Youm-e-Ashura (10th Muharram),the minister said the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the members of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) household remained a guiding example for the Muslim Ummah in upholding Islamic values.

He said the tragedy of Karbala represented an eternal struggle between truth and falsehood, adding that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) set an enduring example of courage by refusing to submit to oppression and injustice.

Abbasi said Ashura conveyed the message of sacrifice for truth,justice and human dignity,urging people to adopt the principles of patience,tolerance,moral courage and public service reflected in the Karbala narrative.

He stressed the need for promoting unity, inter-sect harmony and brotherhood,saying avoiding rumors,provocation and hate speech was essential for national cohesion.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of Karbala,the minister said their sacrifice would continue to serve as a beacon of truth and righteousness.

He prayed for wisdom to understand and act upon the message of Karbala.
