RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jul, 2026) The All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA) has announced a significant breakthrough regarding building fitness certificates following a high-level meeting with Punjab Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth and Secretary C&W Raja Jahangir Anwar.

The APPSMA delegation, led by Central President Kashif Adeeb Jawadani, Lahore and Kasur President Chaudhry Abbas, and Central Joint Secretary Muhammad Hasnain, discussed various administrative challenges faced by private educational institutions, with a Primary focus on the issuance of building fitness certificates, says a press release issued on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the Communication and Works (C&W) Department officials took a principled stance, clarifying that the C&W Department is not the competent authority to issue building fitness certificates and therefore does not issue them.

APPSMA termed this clarification a major success for private educational institutions, stating it will resolve long-standing ambiguity and eliminate unnecessary administrative hurdles for school owners.

APPSMA North Punjab President Abrar Ahmed Khan congratulated the central leadership on the development, noting that their continuous representation has brought major relief to thousands of private schools across Punjab, boosting confidence within the private education sector.
