FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) Punjab Women Development Department has distributed appointment letters among 400 women from Faisalabad who had acquired modern skills related to the textile industry under the “She Threads” program.
The appointment letters were distributed during a ceremony held at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium of Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad division. Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Rana Ahmad Shahryar, Parliamentary Secretary for Women Development Salma Saadia Taimoor, Secretary Women Development Punjab Saman Rai and Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen attended the ceremony. Officials of Women Development Department, representatives of textile industries and a large number of women also participated in the event.
Video documentaries highlighting revolutionary initiatives of the Women Development Department were screened on the occasion.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Speaking on the occasion, MPA Rana Ahmad Shahryar appreciated the initiative and said that the program would play an important role in improving the socio-economic condition of women, particularly in rural areas.
Addressing the ceremony, Parliamentary Secretary Salma Saadia Taimoor said that under the “She Threads” initiative, the department trained and provided employment opportunities to 10,000 women across Punjab within a short span of time.
She said that a strong woman is foundation of a strong Punjab and employment of 400 women from Faisalabad in leading textile industries would help support 400 families financially.
She said that Punjab government is committed to create sustainable employment opportunities for women by equipping them with market-oriented skills to ensure their economic independence and social empowerment.
