Anti-polio drive started in Larkana division, Umbrellas, Caps and water provided to health workers

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Dr. Shoukat Hussain Abro said that under the special directives of the Health Department Government of Sindh and the Deputy Commissioner Larkana, umbrellas and caps have been provided to polio workers during the anti-polio campaign from May 18, 2026 to May 21, 2026, to protect them from extreme heat and heatstroke so that they can perform their duties effectively during the campaign.

He expressed these views the other day while distributing umbrellas and caps to workers in his office before the campaign.

He said that in Larkana district, approximately 402,720 children from newborns up to 5 years of age will be administered polio prevention drops.

In this regard, 1,325 teams have been formed, and these teams will go door to door to administer polio drops to children.

He further appealed to aware the citizens of Larkana district, especially parents, to cooperate with the polio teams and ensure that their flower-like children receive polio drops to protect them from lifelong disability.

On this occasion, World Health Organization District Polio Officer Larkana Dr. Liaquat Ali Noonari and (NSTOP) Officer Rawal Insaf Sahar were also present.
