Anti Polio Campaign Launched in Sukkur, DC Reviews Progress in UC Tamachani

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) A district wide anti polio campaign began in Sukkur on Monday and will continue until May 21, 2026, targeting children under five across multiple areas.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sukkur, Nadir Shehzad Khan, accompanied by his team, visited several areas of Union Council Tamachani to review the campaign’s progress. During the visit, he received briefings from lady vaccinators on the administration of polio drops and inspected tally sheets, cold chain maintenance, finger marking, and other operational details.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Khan said polio eradication is a national responsibility and stressed the need to work on a priority basis to protect future generations from permanent disability.

He directed polio teams to ensure that every child up to five years of age receives the vaccine. He also instructed staff to immediately report any issues encountered in meeting targets to the relevant officers or the DC Office control room for swift resolution.
