Anti-Encroachment drive continues against illegal constructions

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) On the directives of the Mayor Sukkur, Barrister Arslan Sheikh, the anti encroachment campaign was continuing consistently to provide better commuting facilities to citizens, maintain smooth flow of traffic and clear government land from illegal encroachments.

In this connection, in light of the instructions of Executive Engineer (XEN), Nouman Kalhoro, performing the duties of Municipal Commissioner, a vigorous operation against illegal encroachments was carried out yesterday in various areas of Ghareebabad and Shikarpur Road.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Anti-Encroachment Inspectors, Adnan Memon and Sohail Altaf Sheikh, along with Khalid Younis and concerned staff.

During the operation, illegal encroachments established on roads, footpaths and government land were removed, several temporary structures and obstacles were demolished, while material used for encroachments was also taken into custody.

The responsible persons present on the spot were given strict instructions not to re-establish encroachments on government land in the future and were warned that in case of violation, further strict action would be taken in accordance with the law.

On this occasion, the concerned authorities urged shopkeepers, traders and citizens to fully cooperate with the municipal administration to maintain public interest, smooth traffic flow and a clean environment, and to refrain from establishing any kind of illegal encroachment on government land.

The Municipal Administration has made it clear that the campaign against illegal encroachments would continue indiscriminately and persistently, to ensure better travel facilities, a safe environment and an organized, beautiful and encroachment free city environment.
