Anti-drug awareness seminar held in Yasmin Bibi Degree College

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday organized an anti-drug awareness seminar at Yasmin Bibi Girls Degree College, Takht Bhai, to educate students about the harmful effects of narcotics and preventive measures.

The purpose of the seminar was to raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse, causes of spread, educational and social consequences and practical steps for prevention. Excise and Taxation Officer Khalid Khan attended the event as the chief guest.

In his address, chief guest highlighted the physical, psychological and social damages caused by drug addiction. He emphasized that narcotics not only destroy an individual’s health and future but also create serious problems for families and society at large.

He urged the young generation to completely avoid drugs and to play a positive role in spreading awareness within their communities.

He further stated that law enforcement agencies are continuously conducting operations against drug trafficking and stressed that the complete eradication of this menace requires the active cooperation of parents, educational institutions and all segments of society.

Principal of the college, Hilal Bibi, stated that the institution is committed not only to providing quality education but also to ensuring the moral and social development of students so they can become responsible and upright citizens.

During the ceremony, selected volunteer students were officially awarded Anti-Drug Ambassador badges to lead awareness campaigns in other educational institutions as well.

The students reaffirmed their commitment to actively promoting anti-drug awareness within their families and communities.
