Anti-Drug awareness rally held in Haripur to promote drug-free society

HARIPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jun, 2026) An anti-drug awareness rally under the theme “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life” was held in Haripur on Monday under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner, Noor Nawaz to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The rally commenced from the Haripur Secretariat and passed through various roads before concluding at the Chamber of Commerce Office. A large number of government officials, students, members of civil society and local residents participated in the event.

Participants were carrying banners and placards bearing messages highlighting the harmful affects of narcotics and the importance of protecting society, particularly the younger generation, from drug abuse.

Addressing the participants, Assistant Commissioner, Noor Nawaz said that eliminating the menace of drugs was a collective responsibility and called upon every segment of society to play its role in combating the problem. He urged parents, teachers and citizens to guide young people towards healthy and constructive activities.

The rally was aimed to educate youth about the devastating consequences of drug addiction, encourage them to stay away from narcotics and promote collective efforts for building a healthy, safe and drug-free society.
