RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) As the premier counter-narcotics agency of Pakistan, ANF remains at the forefront of efforts to prevent drug abuse, disrupt trafficking networks, and safeguard communities from the harmful effects of narcotics.

Despite its limited manpower and wherewithal, ANF is doing its best to fulfil the assigned mission, accruing significant operational results in the preceding year. ANF foiled 2,999 drug trafficking attempts, conducted 2,999 operations, seized over 216 metric tons of narcotics, and arrested 3,009 individuals, including 102 foreign nationals, who were involved in drug-related crimes.

ANF also maintained strong collaboration with international partner agencies, resulting in successful coordinated operations beyond national borders.

Focused action against synthetic drug dealers led to the seizure of approximately 9.9 metric tons of methamphetamine (Ice) in 512 cases, resulting in the arrest of 545 accused.

Operations against drug trafficking networks further led to the dismantling of several trafficking organizations and illicit drug processing facilities.

Recognizing that enforcement alone cannot eliminate the drug threat, ANF continues its Educational Institutions-Centric Counter Narcotics Campaign, engaging 260 universities and 166 APSACS institutions across the country. Not only it utilised own resources but also trained 2840 master trainers from the provinces as well as the Departments.

These initiatives have facilitated extensive interaction with the students and faculty members, promoting awareness, prevention, and community engagement against drug abuse.

In addition, ANF's rehabilitation networks have continued to provide treatment and recovery services to drug-dependent individuals, reflecting the organization's comprehensive approach of prevention, enforcement, and rehabilitation. During the last year, 3,814 patients received treatment through ANF-led rehabilitation facilities across the country.

26th June is also a moment to remember our 26 martyrs of ANF, who laid their lives in the line of duty and without whom these achievements would not possible. We earnestly pray for their elevated positions in heaven.

On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) reaffirms its unwavering commitment to protecting society from the menace of drugs and promoting a healthy, secure, and drug-free Pakistan. To mark the occasion, commemorative events and awareness activities are planned to be organised at ANF Regional Directorates North, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan.

This year, owing to the coincidence with Ashura, these activities are being held in a somber fashion. On this important day, ANF reiterates that combating drugs is a shared national responsibility requiring collective efforts and a whole-of-nation approach.

26 June serves as a reminder that prevention begins with awareness, while collective action remains the strongest defence against the drug menace. Pakistan remains steadfast in its resolve to build a drug-free society, and ANF will continue to lead national efforts against narcotics trafficking and substance abuse in all its forms.
