ANF arrests seven suspects, seizes drugs worth Rs 22.5 million in nationwide operations

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted seven operations across the country on Wednesday and arrested seven suspects, recovering 42.37 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs 22.5 million.

According to an ANF Headquarters spokesperson, the operations were carried out around educational institutions and in several cities as part of an ongoing crackdown against drug trafficking.

In an operation near a college on Kahuta Road in Islamabad, ANF personnel recovered 900 grams of hashish, 100 grams of ice and 200 ecstasy pills weighing 109 grams from two motorcyclists. During initial interrogation, the suspects confessed that they had been supplying drugs to students at educational institutions.

In separate international interdiction operations, ANF officials at Faisalabad Airport seized 1.028 kg of ice from the luggage of a passenger bound for Bahrain.

Meanwhile, at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, authorities recovered 61 capsules filled with ice, weighing 440 grams, from the stomach of another passenger travelling to Bahrain.

During domestic operations, ANF teams intercepted a vehicle near Ghaza Band Road in Quetta and recovered 20 kg of hashish while arresting two suspects. In another raid conducted in Village Samee in the Turbat district of Kech, officials seized 15 kg of crystal heroin.

Separately, 2.4 kg of hashish was recovered from a parcel at a courier office on Ring Road in Peshawar.

In an inter-provincial operation near Burhan Interchange in Attock, ANF personnel recovered 2.4 kg of hashish from a passenger and arrested the suspect on the spot.

The spokesperson said cases had been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
