RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF)on Monday conducted nine operations across the country and arrested 11 suspects, recovering 193.1 kilograMS(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs 20.8 million.
The ANF spokesman said operations were carried out near educational institutions as part of an anti-drug campaign targeting supply networks involved in selling narcotics to students.
In an operation near a university in Sector H-10 of Islamabad, ANF recovered six kgs of hashish from a vehicle and arrested three suspects. During the initial interrogation, the accused confessed to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
As part of international drug interdiction efforts, ANF officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport recovered 1.3 kgs of Xanax pills concealed in a sweets box from the luggage of a passenger travelling to Riyadh.
In separate inter-provincial operations, ANF seized 14.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>4 kgs of hashish from a vehicle at Islamabad Toll Plaza and arrested two suspects. Near Haro Toll Plaza in Attock, officials recovered 7.2 kgs of hashish from a motorcyclist.
Another operation near Sangjani Toll Plaza led to the recovery of 4.8 kgs of hashish and 1.5 kgs of opium from an individual, while a separate raid at Islamabad Toll Plaza resulted in the seizure of 4.8 kgs of hashish from a vehicle and the arrest of two more suspects.
Under domestic drug interdiction operations, ANF recovered six kgs of hashish from a suspect near a petrol pump in Nazimabad, Karachi. In Peshawar, officials seized 8.4 kgs of hashish hidden in fruit cartons at a cargo office near GT Road.
In a major operation near Zahoor Colony in Dalbandin, ANF recovered 140 kgs of opium from a vehicle, the spokesman said.
Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997, and further investigations are underway.
