RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 11 suspects, including a woman, and seized more than 167 kilograms of narcotics worth over Rs 16.7 million during eight operations conducted in different cities across the country, an ANF spokesman said on Monday.
He said the operations were carried out as part of the ANF’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking at inter-provincial routes and urban locations.
During a raid near a petrol pump on Dina GT Road, officials recovered 9.6 kg of hashish from two suspects who were taken into custody. In another operation near Johar Chowrangi in Karachi, ANF personnel seized 83 kg of hashish from a vehicle and arrested two individuals.
Separately, near Hayatabad in Peshawar, authorities recovered 3 kg of heroin from a vehicle and detained two suspects. In Attock, near Sajawal Mor, 3.
6 kg of hashish and 600 grams of opium were recovered from a motorcyclist who was subsequently arrested.
In inter-provincial operations, ANF teams intercepted a vehicle near the Islamabad Toll Plaza and recovered 2.4 kg of hashish, arresting the accused on the spot. Another suspect was apprehended near the Haro Toll Plaza after 4.8 kg of hashish was recovered from a motorcycle.
In a separate operation at the Islamabad Toll Plaza, officials confiscated 46.8 kg of hashish and 11 kg of opium from a vehicle and arrested the suspect.
Meanwhile, near the Khanewal Toll Plaza in Multan, ANF personnel recovered 2.4 kg of hashish and 2 kg of opium from the possession of a woman, who was taken into custody.
The spokesman said cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997, and further investigations are underway.
