Amir Muqam congratulates newly elected office-bearers of RIUJ (Dastoor)

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam has congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (Dastoor) on their success in the annual elections for 2026-27

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam has congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (Dastoor) on their success in the annual elections for 2026-27.

In his message, he extended congratulations to President Rana Kausar, General Secretary Naveed Ahmad, Finance Secretary Raziq Bhatti, and all other newly elected members of the union. He expressed hope that the new leadership would play an active role in addressing the issues faced by the journalist community, safeguarding professional rights, and promoting journalistic values.

Muqam said that RIUJ Dastoor Chairman Nawaz Raza needs no introduction, given his valuable services to the field of journalism. The minister further stated that Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (Dastoor) comprises professional journalists from Rawalpindi and Islamabad who would continue to support the Government of Pakistan and play their role in highlighting the Kashmir issue before the international community.

He emphasized that journalism remains one of the most important pillars for the development and progress of any country.
