Amb. Qureshi highlights significant role of overseas Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) Ambassador of Pakistan to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg Rahim Hayat Qureshi said that overseas Pakistanis remained an important national asset and served as effective ambassadors of Pakistan through their professional excellence, cultural engagement, and community leadership.

The ambassador held an interactive session with members of the Pakistani community in Antwerp.

The gathering brought together a broad cross-section of the Pakistani diaspora, including community leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, students, youth representatives, and families residing across Belgium, a press release, on Saturday, said.

Ambassador Qureshi expressed appreciation for the valuable contributions made by the Pakistani community towards the socio-economic development of Belgium and for promoting Pakistan’s positive image abroad.

He underlined the importance of building stronger linkages between Pakistan and Europe through the active participation of the diaspora community.

He also particularly encouraged the younger generation of overseas Pakistanis to continue contributing through education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and cultural diplomacy.

Qureshi emphasized that the success and achievements of Pakistanis abroad strengthened Pakistan’s global standing and create new opportunities for future generations.

The interaction formed part of the embassy’s continued outreach efforts aimed at strengthening engagement with overseas Pakistanis and reinforcing the enduring bond between Pakistan and its diaspora community.

During the interaction, members of the community exchanged views on matters relating to consular facilitation, community welfare, youth engagement, business connectivity, and avenues for expanding Pakistan’s outreach in Belgium.

Ambassador Qureshi assured participants that the embassy remained fully committed to responsive consular services and maintaining close coordination with the community to address issues of common interest.

The participants appreciated the embassy’s outreach efforts and welcomed the opportunity for direct engagement and dialogue with the ambassador.
