Allottees seek clarity as CDA begins possession process in I-12

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Allottees in Sector I-12 have urged the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to expedite infrastructure development and provide a clear timeline for handing over possession of plots, as uncertainty persists despite recent signs of progress.

The civic authority has reportedly begun accepting applications from allottees seeking possession in the sector. However, in the absence of an official announcement or defined schedule, many plot owners say the process remains unclear.

Tariq Nawaz, an overseas Pakistani and allottee, expressed frustration over the prolonged delay. “I have been waiting for more than 10 years to get possession of my plot so that I can build a house for my family,” he said, adding that he had invested his savings with the expectation of settling in Islamabad.

Another allottee, Shahid Iqbal, highlighted the lack of transparency. “CDA is accepting applications for possession, but there is no formal announcement or timeline. This creates confusion among allottees who are unsure about the next steps,” he said.

He added that many plot owners intended to benefit from subsidised loans under the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Scheme to construct their homes, but without possession of plots, they were unable to avail themselves of the facility.

Allottees acknowledged that the initiation of the application process was a positive development but stressed the need for a transparent, time-bound plan for granting possession. They said timely handover would not only fulfil a long-standing commitment but also enable families to begin construction and ease financial pressures.

A large number of allottees have been waiting for over a decade — in some cases longer — to take possession of their plots in Sector I-12. The delay, they said, has caused financial strain and uncertainty, particularly for overseas Pakistanis and retirees planning to settle in the Federal capital.

The allottees have called on the CDA chairman to issue a clear and official possession schedule and ensure that the process is completed without further delay. They expressed hope that the current initiative would lead to concrete action, allowing them to finally realise their plans of building homes in the capital.
