Alhamra to host patriotic evening “Marka-e-Haq” in honour of armed forces

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) will present a grand patriotic evening titled “Marka-e-Haq” on May 13, 2026, featuring literary, artistic and cultural expressions dedicated to the bravery, sacrifice and unwavering resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces.

In this regard, a final review meeting regarding arrangements for the event was held at Alhamra under the chairmanship of Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal, here on Tuesday. Deputy Director Administration Umair Hassan briefed the meeting on organizational and logistical preparations. Deputy Director Programs Waseem Akram, Assistant Director Alhamra Art Gallery Meena Haroon, In-charge Open Air Theatre Bilawal Tabraiz, Information Officer Samreen Bukhari and other officials were also present.

The initiative is being organised with the support of Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari and Secretary Information and Culture Punjab Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani, whose encouragement has contributed to shaping the cultural tribute.

According to details, nearly 50 artists from across Punjab have submitted their artworks for a special painting exhibition titled “Marka-e-Haq”, which will open at 5:00 PM. The exhibition will showcase themes of patriotism, national resilience and the heroism of Pakistan’s armed forces, with cash prizes for top position holders.

The evening will continue at 7:00 PM with a musical tribute featuring renowned vocalists Hamid Ali Khan, Imran Shaukat, Ustad Abdul Rauf, Iman Ali, Chand Khan and Nayab Ali Khan, who will perform patriotic compositions in honour of the armed forces.

The event aims to celebrate national pride and artistic excellence, reaffirming Alhamra’s commitment to promoting cultural expressions that honour the defenders of Pakistan.
