Al-Khayf Mosque ready to welcome pilgrims on Day of Tarwiyah

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has completed large-scale operational and service preparations at Al-Khayf Mosque to receive pilgrims on the Day of Tarwiyah during the Hajj 1447 AH season.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Day of Tarwiyah falls on the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah when pilgrims move from Makkah to Mina and begin the main days of Hajj by offering prayers and spending the day and night there before departing for Arafat.

The report said Al-Khayf Mosque, considered one of the most important mosques in Mina, has a built-up area of 23,500 square meters and carpeted spaces exceeding 27,000 square meters to accommodate large numbers of pilgrims.

Authorities said the mosque is equipped with 410 cooling units operated through smart climate-control systems to maintain comfortable temperatures for worshippers during the Hajj season.

The ministry has also installed 54 chilled water dispensers with a combined production capacity capable of serving more than 81,000 pilgrims per hour.

In addition, mobile phone charging stations have been deployed across the mosque premises to help pilgrims remain connected to essential digital and communication services.

SPA told APP that the mosque is equipped with 79 digital screens broadcasting awareness and guidance messages in multiple languages to assist pilgrims during Hajj rituals.

The report added that more than 50 surveillance cameras, along with nine main entrances and six emergency exits, have been arranged to improve crowd movement and ensure pilgrims’ safety inside the mosque.
